The EXW AI Landscape: Institutional Alignment / Panorama de IA en EXW: Alineación Institucional

Golden Circle • Ring 1: THE WHY (Foundational Imperative) Centaur Protocol & Active Verification

“How do we protect human clinical judgment, academic integrity, and equitable access in the age of generative AI?”

In Plain English: Reading Navigation Guide

Before you read the details below, here is the short version: AI Literacy in Exercise Science trains students to act as the human Clinical Architect who audits AI outputs against federal guidelines. Under our Centaur Protocol, students use AI as a clinical calculator to draft options, then audit and correct its mistakes using PAGA 2018, DGA 2025-2030, and ACSM 12th Edition. Future healthcare and fitness employers need human professionals who can frame clinical problems and catch dangerous AI hallucinations.

Aligned with Arizona Western College's institutional vision for ethical AI literacy, the EXW department treats artificial intelligence not as a shortcut to replace thinking, but as an instrument that requires human clinical auditing under the Centaur Protocol.

Core Pedagogical Shift: From Passive Consumer to Senior Clinical Auditor / Del Consumidor Pasivo al Auditor Clínico

Generic language models frequently hallucinate exercise dosages, ignore Yuma environmental heat risks, or cite outdated fitness trends. In the EXW fleet, students are trained as Senior Clinical Auditors who test claims against federal SSoTs and verify every prescription using deterministic calculators.
